Mr. Szklanecki serves at the principal of Palos East. Prior to this role, Mr. Rob Szklanecki served as the assistant to the principal and learning coach at Wheeling Community Consolidated School District 21. He began his career in education as an intermediate teacher, and in 2005 became the assistant to the principal at Edgar A. Poe Elementary School in Arlington Heights. He received his bachelor's degree in elementary education from Illinois State University, and his master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northeastern University. In addition to his duties with District 21, he also served as an adjunct instructional professor at his alma mater, Illinois State University.

Rob is proud to work at Palos East Elementary School. His main goal is to provide support to students, staff, and parents to achieve academic and social-emotional success. He understands the importance of working collaboratively with staff, students, and parents to best meet the needs of each child.

Mr. Szklanecki has a strong commitment to the students he serves. He and his wife have three children and reside in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Mrs. Terri Dodds was appointed assistant principal of Palos East School in 2013. Prior to her administrative role, Mrs. Dodds taught special education at East for 11 years, and demonstrates strength in her understanding of student discipline and her ability to work with special needs students in both conduct and instruction.

She received her bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University in Elementary Education, and her master's degree in Educational Leadership from St. Francis University. Mrs. Dodds lives with her husband and two children, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes to visit museums, restaurants, sightsee in Chicago, and attend Cubs games.
